Supervision and Consultation
Clinical Supervision
I am able to provide supervision to those therapists who use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I can support therapists who are applying for BABCP accreditation, or those who wish to maintain their current accreditation.

My particular specialities are working with adults and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma and I draw upon a wide range of theoretical models. Furthermore, due to the transdiagnostic nature of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy I am able to supervise a wide variety of presentations, and I am familiar with the majority of 'traditional CBT' models as per Roth and Pillings recommendations often used in IAPT services.
I have experience in working with a wide range of evidence based clinical supervision models including:
-
Lewin-Kolb's experiential learning circle supervision
-
Solution focused supervision
-
The 7 Eyed model
-
Milne's CBT model of supervision
-
I have also undertaken further training in an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model of supervision known as SHAPE.
-
More recently I have been using a model created by Jim Lucas known as SEED.
Every supervisor has their own style of supervision, and every supervisee has a different aim of what they would like to get out of supervision. We will spend the first supervision session discussing how we can both work together to meet your aims.

For example, some supervisees come to me for

-
Support with formulation / case conceptualisation
-
Support with making a treatment plan
-
To develop interventions and skills that can be used in session
-
To understand their own experiences and responses, whilst in a client session, and how to respond to them effectively.
-
To reflect on the professional and personal consequences of clinical experiences
-
Marking therapy tapes using the CTS-R / assessing competence for BABCP accreditation
-
Long term supervision with long term goals (such as become accredited, improve practice in a certain area etc)
-
Ad-hoc one off supervision / infrequent supervision to discuss specific clients or experiences)

Every supervised will have a supervision agreement with me. A template of the supervision agreement can be seen here
